What's in Jekyll Island...

I always wanted to come here but never had the chance, but finally last week, my husband took me and the kids to this awesome place.

Our first stop was the Historic District.. if you are trying to go on a dolphin tour, you have to go to the Beachdrive Road.. Both morning and afternoon tours were booked so we had to alter our itinerary.

Such a nice place really!! A lot of kids and adults riding their bikes, literally everywhere...
Love the natural shade that the giant trees give to the tourists like us...

We heard about the Driftwood beach so we checked the place out. I love, love, love the driftwood beach... but my kids don't :) They are looking for "real" beach.

So after a quick lunch at the Beach village (we had some fried shrimp and fries at Love Shack in Jekyll market suite), we headed to Sand Dunes park (or beach).

It was low tide so we were able to walk on part of the dried up "ocean floor". My daughter collected sand dollars and small shells.

Some random "mud" kids...

After 2 hours at the beach, the sun got too hot for my hubby and I.. sorry kids... let us go back to the Historic District and wait for our tour (not until 6pm LOL)...

We took them to ride their bikes along the beachview drive.

There's even a version of "kalesa" (Kalesa: noun, a horse-drawn carriage used in the Philippines. It was one mode of transportation introduced to the islands in the 18th century by Spanish colonizers)

My son got anxious about the dolphin tour. We told him it's when the captain rings the bell and it's at 6:30pm.

After few more minutes of waiting, he was funny as he said "DING!! 6:30"... Hahaha.

But it didn't take long, our wait was over.
We spotted birds...by the bridge.

I was unable to take a single photo of a dolphin in "full" because they were too quick as they swim around us in the spot where the captain took our boat.

I did have some shots of the awesome sunset of Jekyll... ah..........

Bye dolphins, said my kids...

I love Jekyll...

Things Boudoir Photographers Want You to Know

My dear future clients, this page is about what you can expect from Boudoir session:
  1. Its ok to be nervous. In fact, it means you are outside your comfort zone.  And that's where all the fun stuff happens in life, right? – outside your comfort zone!!  I promise , after the first few warm up shots, you'll be great at it.

  2. We aren’t judging (or even really looking) at your body. I know that sounds crazy, but as photographers – that is not our job. Our job is to master posing, light, emotion, etc… So yes although we SEE you, we aren’t picking you apart. We are actually always aiming to capture the best of you and therefore, that is what we see.
  3.  You don’t have to lose 5 or 10 pounds to do boudoir! Tip for you ladies -Wardrobe is the key!! By posing you properly, we will always make you look as good as you look in real life, if not better! And do yourself a favor – Get yourself measured!! Most women are wearing the wrong bra size. The proper bra size makes you look firmer, trimmer and way hotter. (Oh and PS… your period isn’t an excuse to cancel a shoot – a little bloat doesn’t really show on camera.)
  4. No, we can’t just photoshop that out. Ok yes, there are SOME things we can photoshop out – like that little tattoo you got one drunk night when you were 18. Maybe that can easily go, but if it covers your whole back, maybe not. Talk to  your photographer about their photoshop policies before you book them!

  5. Even though you say “it’s for him”, it’s also for you.  A lot of our clients book boudoir as a gift for their significant other. But, the experience is for you! The photos are the souvenir. Embrace the experience that come along with it. Look back at the photos and remember how incredible you felt that day. You deserve to feel beautiful!
  6. Not all boudoir means no clothes, you could be wrapped up and still look and feel sexy in the photos!  (this isn't a secret though, the less you wear, the more "he" likes it... your photographer won't ask you to wear or not wear something you are not comfortable with)
  7. A little practice in front of the mirror before your shoot won't hurt, I encourage it :)
  8. It sucks that I can’t share your photos. I am going to take really gorgeous images of you, and it SUCKS that I can’t share them. I mean how can I build my business if I can’t share my work? It’s not easy – trust me. That said, I will still respect your privacy. If you don’t give me your "go signal",  I will not share your photos without your permission and I will not hold it against you. Your happiness is the most important thing in the world to me. BUT, we love when you tell others how awesome we are. Boudoir is built on referrals and trust. If you love and trust us, please tell someone!
  9. Size or age doesn’t matter. We don’t care if you are a size 2 or a size 22.  Nor we care if you are 25 years old or 60 years old. For me, I want all women to celebrate their unique beauty shamelessly. Don’t put boundaries on yourself just because you “think” it’s not for you.
